How Long Until You Give New Skincare Products The Flick?
Would you still buy new products for your face if I told you that you should be committed to, and use any new products, as recommended for 8 to 12 weeks?
I know, I know, that’s a bloody long time to try something just to see if it’s suitable.
- What about if my face breaks out like a pizza topping on Australia Day?
- What if my skin goes scaly?
- What if my face seems oilier one day and dry the next?
- What if I forget (or can’t be bothered) some nights for my night time skincare routine?
Never fear I have your back with the answers …………..
What about if my face breaks out like a pizza topping on Australia Day?
Every new blemish that appears on the surface of your skin has been lurking under the surface for up to 8 weeks. Yep. Consequently, what ever happened 8 weeks ago is only just showing it ugly head now.
So, it makes sense that if start using new products today, especially ones formulated to draw out toxins, it could still show up as blemishes up 8 weeks from today. I know right, CRAZY.
What if my skin goes scaly?
What if my face seems oilier one day and dry the next?
This is another common issue with new products (if it is mild). There are a lot of articles on the internet about “purging” and they can make sense but it is normal for your skin to undergo several changes throughout this process. You need to give your skin a chance to recalibrate / reset itself. Allow your skin the chance to remove the old and allow it to settle into the new. Our bodies are amazing and when our skin is healthy it will produce sebum (oil) to nurture and moisturize and produce less sebum when needed. Our smart bodies and skin know what it needs to perform it is best. Where things go wrong is when we overcomplicate our skincare routines and confuse our skin.
That is why here at Organically Bare I value and appreciate simplicity and make all my products with natural and organic ingredients. Nature is not complicated. We are.
What if I forget (or can’t be bothered) some nights for my night time skincare routine?
Well, who cares! Sometimes S**t happens. We all get busy, tired, busy doing all the things and I want you to know that you are human and its ok. Nothing drastic is going to happen, your face is not going to fall off and you’re not going to die.
Focus instead on taking the pressure of and learn to make your skincare routine time, your time.
Be intentional and present in the act of your skincare instead of looking at it as a chore. Believe me, if you intentionally cleanse your face with purpose and focus on washing away the day’s dirt and grime, and in no time, you will look forward to the task. Set intentions for each step of your routine and make it fun, enjoyable and/or relaxing. Just for you.
Hope you found these few things helpful. Organically Bare is all about natural simplicity and learning to become your own best friend with intentional skincare. All my products are created using only the best natural and organic ingredients and I have a stringent selection process in choosing my ingredients. We do not need a trillion ingredients to change things. I believe we need gentle ingredients to support our skin to be it’s best. Organically Bare your best skin.
If you have stressed, tired skin please check out my Ultimate Hydration face care range that is suitable for all skin types even sensitive skin. This combination of products can be used for most age groups but beneficial to the over 30 group. The whole range was created with hydration in mind and is an awesome range to use during the colder months when we are exposed to artificial heating and those that have combination or dry skin types.
Until next time
PS: I recommend you pick a time when you don’t have any events or big plans for a fair amount of time so you can give your skin it’s best chance to release toxins, reboot, and regulate itself again. So please do not try a new product before you attend a wedding or something ok (story for another day lol)
